About the Event
Regional Relays is one of the most exciting events on the athletics calendar! It’s a full day of teamwork, learning new skills, and having fun as athletes represent their club in both track and field relay events.
This carnival is all about team competition, where athletes support each other and work together across a range of relay formats. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, connect with teammates, and experience the fun side of athletics.
Events Include:

4 x 100m Relay
-
Swedish Relay: 100m, 300m, 200m, 400m
-
Medley Relay: 200m, 200m, 400m, 800m

Field Event Teams: Athletes’ results are combined for a team score
State Relay Qualification
🏅 Teams who perform well at Regional Relays may qualify for State Relays, held on Saturday 12th December 2026 at QSAC (Brisbane).
Important: If your child nominates for Regionals, they must also be available to attend State Relays.
If one team member is unable to attend States, the entire team will not be eligible to compete.
Please only nominate if you can commit to both dates.
For U15–U17 Athletes
Athletes in the U15–U17 age groups also have the opportunity to be selected for the Sunshine Coast team. If you’re interested, please notify Bec as soon as possible for nomination. These teams will be officially announced at Regional Relays.
Training and Forms
🏃♂️ Relay training will commence after the school holidays.
📄 To help us get organised, please return your relay nomination forms by Friday 2nd October 2026 to the canteen for payment.
